Fleet economics

Fleet operating-cost estimator

Compare petrol or diesel with electric for two-wheeler, three-wheeler and light-van fleets, using assumptions you can see and change.

Methodology

How the estimate is calculated

The model is deliberately simple and fully transparent. It is built from physical quantities (distance, fuel and energy use) and prices, not from a fixed percentage.

Formulas

Monthly distance
fleet size × daily km × operating days
ICE fuel cost
monthly km × (L / 100 km ÷ 100) × fuel price
ICE maintenance
monthly km × maintenance cost per km
EV energy cost
monthly km × (kWh / 100 km ÷ 100) × all-in energy price
EV maintenance
monthly km × maintenance cost per km
Monthly savings
ICE (fuel + maintenance) − EV (energy + maintenance)
Annual savings
monthly savings × 12
Cost difference
monthly savings ÷ ICE monthly cost
CO₂ abated (annual)
(ICE litres × fuel factor − EV kWh × grid factor) × 12 ÷ 1000, in tonnes

Default assumptions (illustrative)

These defaults are illustrative placeholders, not Integride operating data, and have not been validated in a pilot. Replace them with your own figures. Base values are held in USD and shown below in Australian dollars (AUD, the default display currency) at the planning rate in the table that follows; visitors can switch currency in the calculator.

  • All-in EV energy price: 0.6 AUD / kWh, covering the battery-swap service, not only electricity.
  • Operating days: 26 per month, 12 months per year.
  • Emission factors: petrol 2.31, diesel 2.68 kg CO₂ per litre; grid 0.45 kg CO₂ per kWh (illustrative regional average, to be verified).

Currencies and planning rates

The estimator opens in AUD. Switching currency re-expresses the four editable prices at the planning rates below, keeps any edits you have made, and scales the allowed ranges. The rates are round-number approximations for illustration, not live market rates; enter your own local prices for a meaningful result. Volumes, efficiencies and CO₂ do not depend on currency.

Operating cost is not total cost of ownership

The estimate covers energy and maintenance only. It excludes:

  • Vehicle purchase price, financing and depreciation
  • Insurance, licensing, taxes and duties
  • Battery replacement and residual value
  • Charging / swap infrastructure capital cost
  • Driver or operator labour
  • Downtime, route differences and payload effects

Results are modelled estimates under the stated assumptions, not guarantees or measured Integride results.
